Philadelphia Flyers have announced that center Sean Couturier, underwent another back surgery. The estimated time for recovery is 3-4 months.

Flyers' top-line center had a setback in his recovery. On Thursday, coach John Tortorella said the Flyers had shut down Couturier from skating.

«He's just not ready to skate right now,» Tortorella said, «That's a ways away.»

The 29 year old, had back surgery in February. He re-injured his back and did not participate in training camp. About three weeks ago, he resumed skating, doctors said he did not need another surgery and said he felt «better and better every day.»

This is heartbreaking news for a player that can't catch a break. Couturier hasn't played close to a full season since the 2019-2020 campaign. He appeared in 69 games, scoring 22 goals and 59 points.

In 2020-2021 he played 45 games and in 2021-2022 he appeared in 29. He has been productive when in the lineup but unfortunately injuries continue to hamper the point producing forward from Arizona.
