Philadelphia Flyers leading scoring leaves team during road trip
The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that they will be without Travis Konecny for tonight's game against the Montreal Canadiens.
Konecny was injured in a 4-1 loss against the Boston Bruins on Thursday night. Konecny left the game late in the second period. As Konecny was in the Boston zone forechecking he got caught between Charlie McAvoy and David Pastrnak. It appeared he might have injured his right hand or right arm on the paly. After returning to the bench, Konecny eventually headed back to the locker room.
This is a tough loss for Philadelphia. Konecny is the team's leading scorer with nineteen points in seventeen games. Philadelphia is already without the services of Cam Atkinson, Sean Couturier, and James Van Riemsdyk. With all those forwards out of the lineup, Philadelphia is lacking depth up front.
This season the Flyers has struggled to score goals. They've scored just forty two this season which is one of the lowest totals in the league . Let's hope the injury with Konecny is short-term. He was off to a great start offensively for Philadelphia.
