Popular news station falls for fake trade posted on Twitter, shares it on air
A trend of faking trades, signings and even player quotes has caught fire over the past year on sites such as Twitter or Instagram. Most of the time these get ignored and passed over, but everyone and awhile a prominent media agency falls for a fake report.
That is exactly what happened to a Toronto area news outlet CP24. A Twitter user posted the following Tweet yesterday evening.
It wasn't long before CP24 picked up this trade and began sharing it across their platforms including their ticker.
As of right now the Maple Leafs haven't traded Rasmus Sandin, but as the season nears the likelyhood of that happening might just increase.
