Roberto Luongo makes a hilarious joke about his overtime 'poop game'
Roberto Luongo has long been one of the most popular figures on Twitter. His personality has made him a fan favorite in every market that he's played. Last night Luongo took to Twitter to make a joke about his famous 'Poop Game'.
For anyone who hasn't heard this Hockey Legend. The Vancouver Canucks were facing elimination in Game 5 of their second-round series against the Anaheim Ducks during the 2007 playoff run. Luongo was playing one of the best games of his career, having stopped 46 of 47 shots faced through regulation.
To start the overtime period though there was something wrong. Dany Sabourin, the Canucks backup led the team onto the ice for the overtime period. Luongo was nowhere to be found. It was clear when the camera panned to then General Manager, Dave Nonis' face that he was perplexed by his star goalies absence.
Sabourin was forced to make 5 saves before Luongo returned, but where was Luongo? Luongo shared in his own words:
I was there doing my business and I hear the play starting in the arena. So I panicked there. I don't remember if I wiped. I just put my gear back on, tried to get out there as soon as I could.
Luongo has continued to make a joke of this situation and last night was no different, sending out this tweet:
It's always great to see players like Luongo continuing to show his his personality even after his career has come to an end.
