With the Las Vegas Golden Knights fighting for a playoff spot, they received some bad news about their starting goalie. According to the Vegas Knights' official Twitter account Robin Lehner was forced to leave the team for a family emergency.
Robin Lehner has returned to Vegas due to a health issue of one of his family members. We look forward to his return to the team as soon as possible.
The Knights recalled goaltender, Jiri Patera from the American Hockey League on Friday on emergency basis. Logan Thompson, who started on Thursday night for the Knights, is expected to carry the load.
The Golden Knights continue to fight for a playoff spot as they chase both the LA Kings and Dallas Stars for the final remaining playoff spots.
There is no timetable for Lehner's return and our thoughts are with the Lehner family during this time.
