Tonight, the Anaheim Ducks faced off against the Winnipeg Jets on home ice and this game has been a little heated. The Jets are a team that won't back down from anyone and are always willing to stand up for their teammates and when the Ducks take liberties, they'll have to answer the bell.

Early in the second period with the game scoreless, Jets star Kyle Conner cuts in across the blueline before being taken out by Ducks forward Ryan Strome; take a look.

Strome targets Connor's knee and absolutely blows him up with a knee-on-knee hit. With Connor down on the ice, Strome is forced to answer the bell by Mark Scheifele and the two players have a heck of a tilt.

As a result of the play, Strome was given a 5-minute major and a game misconduct for kneeing.

This should not only result in a call from the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety, but also a suspension. This is the kind of hit the NHL claims they want to get out of the game, the only way to do that is to punish plays like this.
