Florida Panthers center Sam Bennett garners two penalties after dirty hit on Kris Letang, which was a vicious cross-check.

After missing 12 of the Florida Panthers' first 13 games of the season due to injury, it looks like Sam Bennett is clearly ready to finish this year out in his own aggressive way.

A post from Jeff Veillette on X shows an absurd cross-check from behind against beloved Penguins defenseman Kris Letang; check it out below.

Sam Bennett has a history of being a «dirty» player, but we don't see too many cross-checking incidents nowadays where a stick is broken in half.

Let's also not get into Kris Letang's history of health problems: the 36-year-old has survived two strokes and also had neck surgery for a herniated disk a few years back, causing him to miss the playoffs entirely.

Bennett did receive two penalties for the outrageous hit: two minutes for the obvious cross-checking and two minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Panthers did end up winning the game, however, beating the Penguins 3-2 in a shootout.
