Steve Yzerman has already had a rather eventful off-season, he's signed multiple free agents, and also traded for a goaltender. But it doesn't appear he's done. Now Yzerman appears to be the favourite to sign former Dallas Stars defender John Klingberg. Klingberg is one of many high profile free agents seemingly holding out for teams to clear cap space before deciding where his next home will be.

According to Jeff Marek of Sportsnet the star rear-guard may be closing in on his decision, and it's sounding like it might be with the Detroit RedWings.

The Wings have had a very busy within the first few days of free agency, signing Andrew Copp and David Perron among others, but adding a name like Klingberg to their back end would be a huge step in the right direction for their back end.

Klingberg, 29, has played his entire career in Dallas, but was unable to come to terms on a new contract with the only team he's ever known. In 74 games with the stars last season, he had 6 goals and 41 assists for 47 points.

We'll keep an eye on it, but it sounds like Klingberg watch could soon be coming to an end.
