Steve Yzerman makes a major decision about Jakub Vrana's future, surprises everyone
If reports are accurate (and we know sometimes stories get reported strictly for clicks), it would appear the Jakub Vrana experiment is back on for the Detroit Red Wings.
@TheFourthPeriod(David Pagnotta) reported today that the troubled Czech Left Winger will be recalled from the Wings American Hockey League affiliate the Grand Rapids Griffins in the next couple of days.
Vrana was placed in the NHL/NHLPA substance abuse program earlier this year has twenty-two goals and ten assists in parts of three seasons with the Red Wings, he played seventeen games earlier this year before voluntarily attending treatment for what was believed to be an addiction to alcohol.
Whether this is Vrana's redemption song is yet to be seen however, the Red Wings may either be strapped for talent or genuinely want to give an individual a second chance as second chances in pro sports are usually few and far between. One thing is for certain, those who show they're worthy of second chances should certainly be given the opportunity, at least until they show whether or not It's worth it; for the player and the franchise.
The news broke at around 5:30 today that the Red Wings had in fact recalled Vrana.
