Teen hockey player tragically passes away at just 17 years old

This is something you never want to report on, a teen hockey player has tragically passed away in an accident.
There are some things you never want to report on, this is one of them. A teen hockey player tragically losing their life is never easy.
According to Hockey Worldwide on Instagram, 17 year old high school hockey player Mikayla McCarvel has passed away.
With heavy hearts and profound sadness we share that our teammate, Mikayla McCarvel, passed away last night. Please keep her family, friends, teammates, coaches and all that knew her in your prayers.
McCarvel, who played a total of 42 games for the Minnesota high-school, succumbed to her injuries suffered in a two vehicle accident three weeks prior. McCarvel suffered a brain injury during the crash and additional injuries.
Our condolences go out to McCarvel's friends, family, teammates and peers.
