Tempers Flare In Rangers Versus Flames Game
If you wanted an action-packed game after the All-Star break, look no further than the game between the Calgary Flames and the New York Rangers. This game had big hits, lots of scoring, overtime, and even a few fights.
Things started to get heated between both teams towards the end of the first period. Sammy Blais was called for a penalty when Flames defender Nikita Zadorov came over and cross-checked grabbed him and dragged him to the ice. MacKenzie Weegar and Will Cuylle then dropped the gloves and Weegar landed several punches. It was just Cuylle's third NHL game this season with New York. Checkout the replay below.
As Sammy Blais was taken to the penalty box by the linesman, Milan Lucic was visibly upset and had some words for Sammy. Just a few moments before, Bilas had a big check on Lucic which caused this whole skirmish in the first place.
From a fans perspective this game had a little bit of everything, and it was entertaining to watch. The Rangers ended up winning 5-4 in overtime as Alexis Lafreniere scored the winner.
