Forward Max Domi is excited to write his own story in the Toronto Maple Leafs history after his father Tie played with Toronto for 11 seasons. The 28 year old signed a one-year, $3M deal with the Maple Leafs.

Domi is ecstatic to be putting on the maple leaf in the fall. He let media know multiple times when he has had the opportunity for interviews.

The Great One Wayne Gretzky was on Leafs Morning Take and shared that Max wanted to be a Leaf so bad he turning down more lucrative offers.

"One of the thing's that I'm really impressed with is that Max had 2 or 3 year offers to go to other cities, and he chose in his heart - I'm going to go there (Toronto) I'm going to take a little less money, I wanna be a Leaf and that's what you want as a organization. You want your guys to be hungry. «

The 12th overall pick from the 2013 draft has bounced around the league the last few seasons splitting last season between the Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars. The year before was split between the Carolina Hurricanes and Columbus Blue Jackets. Domi had a productive last season scoring 20 goals and 56 points.

Domi will have the full support of Leafs Nation behind him as he embarks on his first season in Toronto. If he is successful maybe his stay gets extended? We know Max wants to.
