It's been an up and down year for the Edmonton Oilers especially when it comes to goaltending.
Fans have shown frustration with Edmonton Oilers' General Manager, Ken Holland. They've hoped for him to acquire better goaltending but Holland couldn't find a deal that fit the assets he was willing to move. Fans voiced their displeasure after a embarrassing 9-5 loss this past weekend to the rival Calgary Flames.
Today the Edmonton Oilers have announced they have officially signed goaltender NCAA star Ryan Fanti to a two-year contract beginning in 2022-23 season.
Ryan Fanti, will immediately join the Oilers' AHL affiliate Bakersfield Condors on a professional tryout agreement for the balance of the AHL season. This wasn't the news I'm sure Oilers fans hoped for but the signing of Ryan Fanti could possibly help the team in the future.
Fanti, 22, is 6'3 and 194 pounds Fanti posted a record of 20-12-4 during 37 games with a impressive 1.83 goals against and .929 save percentage playing for the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
