Claude Giroux played 1,000 games as a Philadelphia Flyer. He scored 291 goals and had 609 assists. It was more than just the points for Giroux he was the Captain for 9 years. He bleeds the Orange and Black. When he was traded to the Florida Panthers it literally broke his heart.

Retired Defenseman, Kimmo Timonen grabbed drinks with Giroux after his 1000th game and had this to say on his podcast "Kimanttia":

It was tough on Claude, he was still crying heavily while we were drinking, he was sorry to leave... And he probably never wanted to leave, but that's just how it goes.

Giroux left for chance at the ultimate prize of a Stanley Cup with the Panthers. Something he wanted to do so badly with the Philadelphia Flyers. He reached the Finals once with the Flyers in the 2009-2010 season losing to the Blackhawks in 6 games.
