Two players placed on waivers, including former 1st round pick
At today's 2 pm deadline, insider Elliotte Friedman made the announcement that two players has been placed on the NHL's waiver wire. The Nashville Predators announced they had placed Michael McCarron on waivers, while the Buffalo Sabres announced they had placed Vinnie Hinostroza on waivers.
Hinostroza (BUF) and McCarron (NASH) on waivers
McCarron, a former 1st round pick 25th overall in the 2013 NHL entry draft, entered the NHL's Players Assistance Program earlier this year. McCarron recently completed the program and will be returning to play. If be clears waivers he will be assigned to Milwaukee of the AHL.
Earlier this week Buffalo made it know they would try and trade Hinostroza to try and find him playing time. With no luck on the trade front the Sabres waived Hinostroza in hopes he'd find playing time elsewhere. In 19 games this season he has no goals and 8 assists.
