Good news coming out of Bakersfield, CA today where Jack Rathbone was released from hospital after taking an awful hit in last night's AHL game between his Abbotsford Canucks and the Bakersfield Condors.
The hit took place in the third period behind Abbotsford's net where Condors' player, Colton Sceviour drilled the 22-year old defenseman into the boards from behind.
The Canucks announced on Twitter this morning that Rathbone was released from the hospital last night after undergoing evaluation. While he was motionless for at least 10 minutes on Wednesday, he was reportedly conscious and communicating on the way to the hospital, which was an encouraging sign.
Rathbone has tallied five goals and 16 helpers in 19 games for the Vancouver Canucks AHL affiliate, Abbotsford.
