Updated stat shows just how soft William Nylander really is
Another summer has passed in Toronto and again Kyle Dubas refuses to move on from his failed Core Four experiment. After what has become an annual tradition, the Maple Leafs have bowed out in the first round once again. During that playoff run William Nylander drew some heavy criticism for bailing out on a player to avoid taking a hit.
While Nylander has developed a reputation for being soft and disengaged and update stat from JFresh Hockey takes that to another level. In his career Nylander has player in 439 games and in those games he only thrown 107 hits.
According to JFresh's calculations for the 2022-2023 season, William Nylander is expected to throw 0.8 hits for every 60 minutes of ice time he receives. Or 1 hit for every 3 games he plays.
But don't worry Leafs fans, when Nylander goes to the World Championship and wears the Team Sweden jersey he's more than willing to dish out some physical play.
