Vegas Golden Knights Jack Eichel finding himself again in Sin City
To say the last few seasons have been tough, would be an understatement for Vegas' center Jack Eichel. He is finally back to full health, winning games, and playing some of the best hockey of his career.
In 14 games, Eichel has scored 6 goals and has 15 points. Currently playing on the Golden Knights top line with captain Mark Stone, and Chandler Stephenson.
He kept that form going on Tuesday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Eichel scored Vegas' second goal in the first period of their 4-3 overtime win. The Golden Knights improved to 12-2, tops in the NHL's overall standing, and have won eight straight.
Things are going well for me. I'm feeling good again," Eichel said. "I think that's probably one of the reasons I probably argued as much as I did for the surgery I desired. I just felt like that was my best chance to get back to as close to full health as possible. It doesn't happen overnight, and you don't just get surgery and things go back. It takes time. So I felt like I had a good summer and I feel pretty good.
Vegas wrap up their road trip against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday. Eichel was focused on the Leafs Tuesday but did acknowledge how well Buffalo have started the season.
Obviously, I wish all those guys the best. I feel like I was a part of that organization for a lot of years and made a lot of great relationships," he said. "I care about those guys, and I want to see them have success. I'm not somebody who leaves and wishes bad upon anyone. I just don't really believe in that. I'm really happy in my situation and it's nice to see that they've been doing well.
It's nice to see Eichel enjoying his time in the NHL again
