Wayne Gretzky takes a shot at both the Avalanche and Oilers
During the intermission between the Colorado Avalanche and the Edmonton Oilers, Wayne Gretzky says he wishes he could play now.
I was the most offensive player that ever lived, but you gotta play defense man.
Gretzky made a glaringly obvious comment about the lack of defensive structure on both teams last night. With the Avalanche finally ending the Oilers with an 8-6 victory.
The Great One also made a remark about how he wishes he could play now, as a lot of scoring chances in the NHL are made on breakaways and 2 on 1's, currently.
Gretzky who holds some pretty ridiculous records currently, such as the most Art Ross Trophies in a career with 10, can stake some claim to that statement. However, maybe the Oilers should consider listening to the statements about defense more than anything.
