NHL referee Wes McCauley is one of the best in the league right now. Not only is he consistent, but he is charismatic on the microphone. Known for his over the top penalty calls, he provides entertainment to the game.
McCauley was part of the team officiating the first round matchup between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning. During one of the stoppages in play, Nikita Kucherov asked Wes McCauley «How did you pick your job?» and his answer was awesome.
Cause I was a shit hockey player
We all think, «the only reason he's reffing is because he can't play.» I guess McCauley confirmed it.
