As you can see in the video, the returning Jani Hakanpaa of the Toronto Maple Leafs gently pushed Nic Dowd into his own goaltender, Joseph Woll. Despite that, the goal was overturned. Dowd was furious.

It wasn't the only odd incident in the game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals last night. Ryan Reaves tore a piece off the boards in a must-see mishap. This is the one garnering the most attention, though as it seems to be almost a nightly occurrence.
To make matters even worse for the Washington Capitals, who recently got back a veteran player in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins, lost this game 4-3. The called back goal could have been a huge difference maker
Toronto also had a goal called back when the officials rules that it was the puck was hit with a high-stick before going into the net.
While most people understand hockey is a fast game where it's not possible to catch everything with just your bare eyes, surely having access to video replay with multiple angles should help officials make the right call. The NHL really needs to fix this so everyone isn't so confused.
