In a post on social media on Saturday evening, the Rimouski Oceanic announced the passing of one of their former goaltenders, Creed Jones, at the age of 24 followed a motorcycle accident.
Jones spent parts of four seasons in the QMJHL with the Gatineau Olympiques, Rimouski Oceanic and Saint John Sea Dogs between 2017-18 and 2020-21 where he appeared in 93 games and had a record of 27-47-8, a goals against average of 3.27, an .894 save percentage and two shutouts.
After his time in the QMJHL, Jones played four games with the University of Ottawa in USports before hanging up his skates following the 2021-22 campaign.
The thoughts of everyone here at Blade of Steel are with Creed Jones' family and friends at this difficult time.
