Former QMJHL goaltender passes away at age 24

A former QMJHL and U-Sports goaltender has sadly passed away at the age of 24.

In a post on social media on Saturday evening, the Rimouski Oceanic announced the passing of one of their former goaltenders, Creed Jones, at the age of 24 followed a motorcycle accident.

Note: the following was translated from French.

"1/2 The Rimouski Océanic wishes to add its voice to that of the Olympics, the Sea Dogs and the QMJHL as our former color wearer, Creed Jones, lost his life today.

We have only fond memories of this wonderful person and wish our most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

Rest in peace and watch over yours, Creed 🕊️ ."

Jones spent parts of four seasons in the QMJHL with the Gatineau Olympiques, Rimouski Oceanic and Saint John Sea Dogs between 2017-18 and 2020-21 where he appeared in 93 games and had a record of 27-47-8, a goals against average of 3.27, an .894 save percentage and two shutouts.

After his time in the QMJHL, Jones played four games with the University of Ottawa in USports before hanging up his skates following the 2021-22 campaign.
