When the National Hockey League is in the off-season, there has to be a balance between players getting time off and doing things in their communities, the Toronto Maple Leafs are no different.
According to the hockey news, Maple Leafs forwards Max Domi and Mitch Marner will be the captains during a charity hockey event being held in Brampton on August 21. The event is being called hockey night in Brampton and also feature a slew of former NHL players as well.
It will be interesting to see the kind of reception the two forwards get Domi is already regarded as a fan favourite just coming off signing a four year extension that will keep him in Toronto. Mitch Marner is the exact opposite and many fans want to push him out of Toronto.
Either way NHL players making time in their busy schedules to give back to their local communities and participate in a charity game In the middle of the off-season is pretty fantastic.
