With the rumours surrounding Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins working on his next contract an insider has released the cap hit Crosby will sign at.
Sidney Crosby is the most recognizable name in the National Hockey League besides Connor McDavid. He's put the Pittsburgh Penguins on his back for his entire career and one more than likely sign an extension with the team when the comes, but exactly what would his cap hit be on a new deal? An insider has dropped that information
According to Rob Rossi of The Athletic, Crosby will sign a three year deal worth $10 million annually, which would be the largest contract of his career, albeit, he last contract was for 12 years at 8.7M a season
Crosby, 36, is still one of the most productive players in the national hockey league even late into his 30s. He put up 94 points in all 82 games for the Penguins last year and somehow has showed no signs of slowing down despite his age.
This might be the richest contract of his career, but no one can say that he doesn't deserve it. If only General Manager and President of Hockey Operations, Kyle Dubas would sign the contract, this would all be over.
Would you take Sydney Crosby for three more years at a $10 million cap hit? I would.
We'll see how long this plays out, but now we know the likely number Crosby signs for
