After rumours have been swirling about Nazem Kadri and the Calgary Flames an insider has revealed he would be willing to move on.
The Calgary Flames had to know when they signed Nazem Kadri to a seven year contract. The things might not work out of course no team wants ever planned for anything like that, but there have been more rumours surrounding his eventual departure from the flames. This off-season and there have been in recent memory, and now it appears that he finally may be willing to move his trade clause in order to accept a deal.
According to NHL Trade Rumours and The 4th Period's David Pagnotta, Nazem Kadri is open to a trade but nothing is close.
My understanding with respect to (Kadri) is that he's willing to waive (the no-move clause) for the right situation. I think he would welcome a return to Colorado.
Kadri holds all the cards in the situation, especially with a seven year contract and a no movement clause so he can be picky about where he goes, if he goes and when it happens.
A return to the Colorado Avalanche would make a ton of sense. Kadri has had lots of success there, he's won a Stanley Cup there and he knows where he'd fit in with the team as a whole. However, his hefty cap hit means the teams that would have the money to trade for him would be very slim.
If Kadri will only waive his no trade to go back to the Avalanche though, he might be waiting a while for that to happen
