Kyle Dubas hires the Toronto Maple Leafs secret weapon out from under them
The Pittsburgh Penguins and Kyle Dubas are officially hiring Wes Clark from the Toronto Maple Leafs as there new vice president of player personal.
When Kyle Dubas left the Toronto Maple Leafs, he did so on his own terms. After trying to negotiate a new contract, to no avail. He was forced out of the Maple Leafs organization. It didn't take Dubas long to land a new job with Fenway Sports and become the new president of hockey operations for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Since leaving Toronto Dubas has done his best to replicate everything he done in Toronto, despite claiming he did not have control within the organization. Today once again Dubas has once again replicated a part of the Toronto organization hiring Wes Clark as the vice president of player personnel.
The Penguins have named Wes Clark Vice President of Player Personnel.
Clark will oversee the club's amateur, professional and college/European free agent scouting departments and will report directly to Kyle Dubas.
Clark has been a star for the Maple Leafs over the last few seasons in the draft department. He is responsible for the drafting of players such as Matthew Knies, well as top prospects Fraser Minten, Easton Cowan and Ben Danford.
Clark will provide great help to a Pittsburgh team who has struggled to both draft and develop players recently. This is an incredible get for Pittsburgh but more so for Kyle who continues to try to surround himself with the exact same people he had in Toronto.
