Matvei Michkovs head coach gives ultimatum to John Tortorella
After reports that Philadelphia Flyers top prospect Matvei Michov would be joining the team next year his current head coach has a warning for John Tortorella.
According to Dylan Robillard, a journalist for Flyers Nitty Gritty, Matvei Michkovs current head coach for SKA Saint Petersburg has a stern warning for the Philadelphia Flyers organization and Tortorella should they not use him properly next season; take a look.
SKA Head Coach: "If Michkov does not play on Philadelphia's first line, he will return to SKA."
"There is no official decision yet. And we can't say that we are letting anyone go. You see, this is a serious question. We can talk about some agreements, including rights. You know that Michkov is a high-level player. And if someone wants to buy these rights, let's discuss."
"I don't want to reveal a commercial secret. But you understand that we invested a lot in Matvey. And if he does not become the leader of Philadelphia, then we will definitely wait for him back in the KHL.
And I will emphasize that this whole story was influenced by Michkov's family situation. We need to support him in this. This is not a hockey issue, but a family issue. And we all must support Matvey.»

It appears as if Michkov will join the Flyers next year, but if he's not given first line minutes right away, he will return to his club team.
Tortorella has a history of being hard on his players, particularly his rookie's and if the Flyers want to have access to their top prospect, they have to listen to his team in his home country.
At this point, it seems as if Michkov might be more of a headache than they imagined when they drafted him, even if they had all the information.
We'll see where this goes, but it's certainly something to watch as the National Hockey League gets closer to the offseason.
