On Saturday night Morgan Rielly delivered a cross check to the head of Ottawa Senators' Ridley Greig. The play has been highly dissected since it occurred and has left fans conflicted on an appropriate punishment.

Today Rielly was scheduled for an in-person hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety. However, as of early this morning the league has made the decision for safety reasons to no longer require Rielly to attend in person. Instead, the hearing will now happen virtually.

Darren Dreger revealed the following:

Morgan Rielly in-person hearing has been changed to a virtual hearing due to inclement weather. No travel.

New York City where the hearing was set to be held is currently bracing for up to 6 inches of snow, which has led to the league's decision. Rielly will still have his case heard today and is expected to hear a ruling later tonight or tomorrow morning.

According to multiple insiders It sounds as if this will be a stiff penalty for the Leafs' defender, with some assuming it could be as high as a 20 game suspension.
