For years now, Paul Bissonnette has become one of the biggest names in hockey media with the wild success of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, with the former NHLer parlaying that success into a permanent spot on the NHL coverage with TNT.
Alongside Wayne Gretzky and Henrik Lundqvist among others, Bissonnette brings a great energy to the show that makes everyone involved feel like they're having plenty of fun, and in return, fans get great coverage of the league.
The same can't be said for Hockey Night in Canada on Sportsnet however, as many fans have critiqued the show saying that there's no life to the show and it's simply not what it used to be.
Now however, 'Biz nasty' is set to make an appearance on the show in place of Kevin Bieksa, as he announced recently on his social media.
While it may only be a one-night appearance, this is exactly the type of personality and passion that the HNIC coverage has been missing, even if Sportsnet appear to enjoy the direction that the show has been going.
After the announcement was made, one fan insisted that Biz cover the Senators on the show, as they often get disrespected on HNIC, to which he responded and promised some great coverage.
Unfortunately for fans that like a more energetic, humorous and passionate coverage of their hockey, this will be just one night, and given how successful he's been since departing the NHL, it's clear that there's plenty of support for this type of content.
For now though, we will see how Bissonnette plays alongside the likes of Elliotte Friedman, as it could make a fantastic dynamic that the Sportsnet crew look to emulate once Bieksa ultimately returns.
