The NHL waiver wire has been very active lately as teams adjust their rosters going into the Four Nations tournament break.
Just two days ago, we saw three players including a former 1st round pick hit the wire and all three made it through, going unclaimed.
Today, two more players find themselves awaiting their fate as they could get claimed by any team in the NHL.
Those player would be LA Kings defenseman Andreas Englund and Seattle Kraken forward Mitchell Stephens.
Englund, 29, is a left-shot defenseman with just under 200 games of NHL experience.
He was drafted by the Senators in the 2nd round, 40th overall in the 2014 draft and has appeared in 11 games for the Kings this year, recording a single goal in the process.
Stephens on the other hand, is also a former 2nd round pick, taken 33rd overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2015.
He has a goal and 3 points in 25 games for the Kraken this season.
In his career, he has played in 120 regular-season NHL games split between the Lightning, Red Wings, Canadiens, and Kraken. He has 6 career goals and 19 points.
Neither player figures to be part of the long-term plans for their clubs and will likely spend most if not all of the remainder of their careers in the AHL or Europe.
That being said, there is always the possibility that one or even both of them could get claimed by a team looking for temporary depth at a specific position.
Be sure to stay tuned tomorrow morning to see whether or not either of these players makes it through waivers.
