If you've been paying attention to the NHL at all, then you've seen the absolute dominance the Edmonton Oilers have had in the last two months.

After an extremely embarrassing start to the season, losing 13 of their first 20 games which ultimately led to the firing of their previous head coach Jay Woodcroft, the Oilers have impressively crawled their way back up to a better part of the NHL standings. Under their new head coach Kris Knoblauch, Edmonton had won 16 games in a row before losing to the Vegas Golden Knights 3-1 this past Tuesday. The Oilers are currently 3rd place in the Pacific Division with their sights set on 1st.

Despite being an incredible team with a great comeback story, it's been rumored they've been interested in adding some depth to help them out even more. One of the names that's been thrown around is none other than current Ottawa forward Vladimir Tarasenko.

With a Stanley Cup already under his belt that he won with the St. Louis Blues back in 2019, Tarasenko would be an interesting and exciting addition to the Oilers. He currently has 13 goals and 20 assists with Ottawa this season. Maybe signing him to Edmonton might light a fire under his ass and we'll see him get a couple more 30+ goal seasons that we know and have seen the guy accomplish.

The NHL trade deadline is March 8th. It'll be very fun to see how this whole situation pans out for both Tarasenko and the Oilers.
