With only one game in the National Hockey League today, you'd think it would be in a timeslot with the most amount of eyes on it, but that's not the case. NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman is proving once again he doesn't know how to market the sport properly.

The Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights will play a 10 pm Eastern time tonight, it's a west game, sure, but with no other games today and the world's best player playing in Connor McDavid, you'd think the NHL would pick a better time to maximize the audience that would see the game.

Literally zero competition tonight, and the National Hockey League has the Oilers/VGK game starting at 10 Eastern. Extremely on brand for the league

For a day with zero competition and an audience salivating for good hockey, this is an odd start time, one that will minimize the number of eyes on the game.

Once again, the NHL proves that not only do they not know how to market the game, but they also don't know his to market their stars.

This is just the most recent example as to why Bettman is out of touch with the league today
