Referees lose control of Panthers versus Bruins game, decide to end it early and send teams to locker room
The Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers faced off in what ended up being a physical Game 2 of their playoff matchup. The Bruins would ultimately have one of their worst games of the season losing 6-3.
The 3rd period of the game saw multiple ejections between the two teams. With things getting out of hand 7 players would be ejected in the final 2 minutes.
It's not uncommon for things to get heated during a playoff game, but what's uncommon is what happened with 3 seconds left on the clock. Instead of playing out the final seconds the referee simply shut down the game and called it a night. Something you don't see often.
