Sheldon Keefe announces shocking Game 4 starting goalie
When Ilya Samsonov went down with an injury it was obvious the Toronto Maple Leafs were going to have to make a change. Insert Joseph Woll. Woll came in off the bench to takeover in goal and unfortunately was on the wrong end of a 3-2 overtime decision.
Waiting in the wings for the Maple Leafs was their key off-season addition, Matt Murray. Murray had missed extended time due to injury and hasn't played a game since March. However, Murray was recently announced to be healthy and able to play.
Many expected Murray to be the Game 4 starter. Murray has the playoff history and the Stanley Cup pedigree, but that won't be the case. Instead, Murray will find himself on the bench while Woll tries to take the reigns and lead the Maple Leafs back to an unlikely comeback.
Game 4 starter Joseph Woll on the mood of the team: «Belief.»
Now the question becomes is Sheldon Keefe making the right decision, or is he overthinking a simple choice?
