Toronto Maple Leafs furious after controversial no goal call
With the Toronto Maple Leafs trailing 2-1 in a lose and go home Game 5, the Maple Leafs has thought they had found a tying goal. Unfortunately for the Maple Leafs after a long video review the team had their hopes dashed.
As Morgan Rielly made an extremely strong play taking the puck to the net he appeared to push the puck over the goal line. Rielly immediately threw his hands into the air on celebration, unfortunately the on ice official didn't see things the same way. The referee ruled the puck hadn't crossed the line but would opt for video review.
While the camera angle shows the puck clearly over the line the situation room was unable to find conclusive evidence it happened before the whistle. This play would likely be less controversial if the referees hadn't have called a very similar play in favor of the Lightning in round one.
But what do you think? Goal or no goal?
