Devils acquire former first-round pick from Boston
The Boston Bruins announced on Monday that they've acquired defenceman Reilly Walsh from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for former first-round pick Shane Bowers.
Bowers, 23, was a first-round pick of the Ottawa Senators in 2017 and was dealt to Boston by Colorado back in February. In 57 AHL games this season between the Colorado Eagles and Providence Bruins, Bowers had 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists), 16 penalty minutes and was a minus-three.
Walsh, 24, was drafted by the Devils in the third round back in 2017. In 71 games this past season for the AHL's Utica Devils, Walsh had 41 points (nine goals, 32 assists), 40 penalty minutes and was a minus-six. He added five points in six Calder Cup Playoff games.
