Alex DeBrincat was dealt to the Ottawa Senators last year at the 2022 National Hockey League draft and after just one season in Ottawa, he wants out and had made it clear he's not going to sign an extension with the Senators at the end of next season. As such, DeBrincat has been the subject of trade rumours.

Now, according to the Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, a sign and trade could be close for the young star; take a look.

"The Ottawa Senators are working hard at trying to make this happen."

DeBrincat, 25, had a good season for the Senators last year, appearing in all 82 games for the club scoring 27 goals and adding 39 assists for a total of 66 points on a struggling and young Ottawa team.

One thing is for certain, the Senators are motivated to move on from DeBrincat and could likely get a large haul in return. It'll be interesting to see if this deal gets done this off-season, all indications are saying it will, but Pagnotta not wanting to put a timeline on it suggests it could take a little longer as well.
