Senators complete second trade of the day, sends goaltender to Colorado
The Ottawa Senators have completed their second trade of the day, sending goaltender to Colorado.
Just hours after acquiring Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson from the Edmonton Oilers, and signing goaltender Mads Sogaard to an extension, the Ottawa Senators have made another deal, this time clearing up their goaltending situation a bit.
In a post on social media on Monday, the Colorado Avalanche announced that they've acquired the rights to goaltender Kevin Mandolese and a 2026 seventh-round pick from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
"We have acquired the rights to Kevin Mandolese and a 2026 seventh-round pick from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick." The Avalanche said.
Kevin Mandolese, 23, became a restricted free agent on July 1st and wasn't signed by the Senators before being traded to Colorado. Last season, Mandolese appeared in 23 games for Ottawa's AHL affiliate in Belleville where he had a record of 10-9-2 with a 3.07 goals against average, a .901 save percentage and one shutout.
More to come.
