Friend of Gino Odjick reveals the cause of death of the former Enforcer
Yesterday the family of Gino Odjick announced the passing of the beloved enforcer. Odjick, 52, had battled health issues publicly since 2014. His death yesterday rocked the hockey world and everyone around it.
Peter Leech, a good friend of Odjick, took time to sit down with the Vancouver Province and revealed the nature of Odjick's passing.
I was there for the whole thing. He had a heart attack, couldn't recover from it. We knew this day was going to come, we didn't know when. We were hoping much later.
He collapsed in the clinic, thank god the nurses were there. They worked on him for 45 minutes. It was tough to watch.
Odjick was known as a man with a huge heart and someone who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Leech put it best when he described Odjick.
That's what he had. Unfortunately that big heart gave out. He lived life, we always joked.
Rest in Peace Gino
