Things boiling over in Calgary as Nazem Kadri blames Darryl Sutter for all the Flames issues
When the season began the Calgary Flames and most NHL analysts believed that the Brad Treliving had somehow managed to save the Flames from complete disaster. After losing both Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk, Treliving replaced both players with Nazem Kadri, Jonathan Huberdeau and Mackenzie Weegar. The Flames were expected to be one of the favorites in the Pacific Division.
Instead of competing in the Pacific Division, the Flames instead find themselves outside of the playoffs completely. The Flames currently sit 4 points behind the Winnipeg Jets for the final Wild Card spot.
Multiple reports over the season have leaked out of Calgary that players continue to have issues with Head Coach, Darryl Sutter. Earlier this year, Allan Walsh, agent for Jonathan Huberdeau took shots at Sutter and his coaching methods. This after Sutter told media members that Huberdeau was "taking a shit", while the forward was actually receiving treatment for an injury.
Now it appears another one of the newly acquired Flames is having issues with the teams Head Coach. According to Elliotte Friedman, after the Flames 3-2 loss to the Dallas Stars, things boiled over for Nazem Kadri.
Nazem Kadri has been very vocal about what he's seen in Calgary this season and why they aren't firing on all cylinders
He's been very blunt about the communication between players and the coach.
Frustration boiled over on Saturday night.
Kadri's frustrations boiled over after for most of the 3rd period and all of overtime he found himself glued to the bench.
In the past Kadri has had a reputation for being an issue for teams, before finally shaking that title with the Avalanche last season. So the question has to be asked, is Kadri simply upset of a coach holding him accountable or is he simply reverting to the days when he was considered a "liability" in Toronto?
