A very tough break for the St. Louis Blues and defenceman Torey Krug. The team has announced that Krug suffered an injury getting ready for the upcoming season and will miss training camp.
"Torey Krug suffered a right-foot injury while training for the upcoming 2023-24 season. Krug is scheduled to be re-evaluated on Oct. 1."
If the evaluation shows more time is needed, Krug may end up missing the start of the new season.
Krug has been with the Blues for three seasons now, after leaving the Boston Bruins as a free agent in 2020. Last season was one of his worst in a while, production wise, as he put up seven goals and 32 points in 63 games.
Krug has four years left on his current contract that carries a cap hit of $6.5 million annually.
