NHL announces salary cap punishments for 15 teams for next season
For the 2022/23 NHL season the league's salary cap was set at $82,500,000. That number is expected to climb by at least $1,000,000 for next season. However according to the NHL there will be at least 15 teams that will be unable to spend all the way to the new cap number.
Due to performance bonuses for some teams they'll be forced to operate at a reduced level for next season. The team with the biggest salary cap punishment for next season will be the Boston Bruins, who due to bonus overages will have to incur a $4,500,000 cap penalty for next season.
