The Vancouver Canucks traded for Elias Lindholm just before the Allstar break, but it came at a very high price even though it was an upgrade to their offence.
According to Elliotte Friedman, Lindholm, a one-year rental, was targeted by more teams than just Vancouver, as Boston put in an offer but was declined. Not having a first or second round pick in this year's draft could've turned Calgary away. However, they now look to possibly sign him in the off-season.
Lindholm is 29 years old and was the fifth overall pick by the Hurricanes in the 2013 draft. Since being traded to Vancouver, he has two goals in two games with the team
He'll be a huge target in the off-season, and with the Bruins having $27 million in cap space and not any big contracts to re-sign, they make a run at him.
