Brad Marchand facing possible suspension after dirty elbow
After what has already been a busy week for the NHL Department Player Safety, it appears George Parros will be placed under the microscope once again. During today's game between the Boston Bruins and Los Angeles Kings, Brad Marchand threw what can only be defined as a dirty elbow.
The hit occured in the 3rd period when forward Viktor Arvidsson attempted to cross the center line. As Arvidsson tried to cross, Marchand lifts his elbow and delivers a shot directly to the face. The hit sent Arvidsson to the ice and left him bloodied.
Somehow the hit went uncalled on the ice and both players remained in the game. It's very possible that Marchand will hear from the league on this play.
The Bruins would go on to lose the game 5-4 in overtime for their 5th lose in their last 6 games. The Bruins have since blown their divisional lead and sit just one point up on the Panthers in the Atlantic Division.
