The Boston Bruins are off to one of their worst starts to a season in recent memory, and now Head Coach Jim Montgomery simply doesn't have answers for the media.
This season has been an up-and-down one for the Boston Bruins thus far, as they've had some success but haven't managed to consistently put on performances that we've come to expect from this team. At 7-7-2, this isn't the performance that was expected from Boston this season, and according to many, the seat for Head Coach Jim Montgomery keeps getting hotter.
His latest post-game press conference certainly won't instil confidence in the front office either however, as he was asked how he can find a solution to his teams struggles.
"Talk about it," said Montgomery. "We'll look at why and what we're doing sports science-wise. Right now, I don't have an answer for you."
On top of that, he threw it back to the media when he was asked about why his message wasn't getting through to the team, showing a major lack of accountability and simply no solution from the Head Coach.
"That's up for you guys to figure that out and come up with a reason," said Montgomery. "We just weren't good enough. You guys can write what you guys think is the malaise on the team and what's going on. We're just not playing good enough. Thanks."
It's not just for Montgomery to figure out, as these players need to take accountability for the team's struggles early in the season, as the team still have a great chance to turn this around as they hover around the .500 mark. With several veterans hitting free agency this summer, there's some big decisions for the Bruins front office and GM Don Sweeney to make, but it all starts with Montgomery, so let's see how long this will last in Boston.
