The St. Louis Blues made a big decision earlier this week after a loss to the Detroit Red Wings, relieving Craig Berube of his duties as head coach after parts of six seasons behind the bench.

On Thursday morning, Blues forward Jordan Kyrou was asked about his relationship with Craig Berube and gave a pretty blunt response, saying "he's not my coach anymore". Kyrou's comments came as a surprise to many and the fans didn't appear too happy with what he said.

Ahead of puck drop for their game against Ottawa, Jordan Kyrou was announced in the starting lineup and was heavily booed by those in attendance at Enterprise Center.

After the game, where he recorded an assist, Kyrou was quite emotional with the reception he got from the fans, saying he understands where they're coming from regarding his comments, but that he loves to play in St. Louis and that it was tough to hear.

"I see where they're coming from with how my comment sounded." Kyrou said.

He added, "It's just tough, right? I love playing here. So, it's just tough to hear the fans booing me there."

The Blues began the Drew Bannister era with big 4-2 win, bringing the team back to the .500 mark and jumping the Arizona Coyotes for fifth in the Central Division for the time being.
