When Cap Friendly was shuttered right after the NHL free agency opening on July 1st due to the sale to the Washington Capitals it seems more teams are looking for ways to implement their own systems.
According to B/R Open Ice on X, the St. Louis Blues are the most recent team to launch a team centric site similar to Cap Friendly that will track the teams, contract and cap situation.
St. Louis, while launching this new tracker will also have acquisition history built into it. This will give fans a chance to be more involved if they choose to be by giving them access to as much information as they would like.
It seems like these trackers similar to that of Cap Friendly Will be made more available, but they will be published by the NHL teams themselves. It will be interesting to see how many teams follow suit and how popular the team centric sites become.
The loss of Cap Friendly has left a huge hole for many NHL teams, that much is evident, this is a way for them to bridge the gap.
