After a strong start to the season, things have gone from bad to worse in Vancouver in recent times, with new teams joining the race to land J.T. Miller from the Canucks amidst all of the drama involving he and Elias Pettersson.
On Thursday, Miller played one of the worst games of his career, tallying no points and a -2 differential in a 5-1 defeat to the Los Angeles Kings, with things getting so bad that videos were posted to social media of his abysmal effort during the game.
Now, the 31-year old veteran has opened up on the very public drama in Vancouver, and while he's holding accountability for himself, he can't deny the mental strain that this season has taken on him.
While it's easy to feel sympathy for Miller, who has been in the middle of non-stop reports for weeks in the media, this feud with Pettersson that has led to all of this has been years in the making, and is something that could and should have been squashed years ago for the good of the team.
At this point, it's just a matter of time until Miller is moved by GM Patrik Allvin and the Canucks, and while a trade may result in a drop off of experience and production, taking him out of the locker room may ultimately be the biggest positive move the organization can make right now.
