The Winnipeg Jets have had a rough start to the off-season with all of their star players not wanting to re-sign with the team when their contracts or up but this one player in particular has an outlandish ask on his next contract.
According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, Pierre-Luc Dubois wants an insane amount on his next deal; take a look.
EF on Dubois' next deal (32TP): A lot of people are assuming 8x9, and I don't think that's wrong... there's probably a little bit of a swing there, like it's as high as Barzal which is 9.15 and it could go as low a Larkin which is 8.75, it's going to be somewhere in that range
Dubois, 24, had a career year last season playing for the Winnipeg Jets where he had 27 goals and added 36 assists for a total of 63 points in 73 games.
Dubois is a good player, but there's no way he's worth 9.15 million a season. The guy had a career year last year, but there's no way he even comes close to making that kind of money.
Knowing the National Hockey League though, someone will be willing to pay that price one way or the other. There's no way he's going to a contender with that ask though.
