3 players ejected on the same play after Brady Tkachuk snaps and tries to fight Chicago Blackhawks goalie
The Ottawa Senators failed to seize an opportunity to move up in the wild card race by getting whopped by the Chicago Blackhawks 5-0. With about four minutes to go in the second period, Brady Tkachuk was at his usual spot in front of the net on the power play. With the Senators already down 4-0 in the game, the team was hoping to get on the board. Tkachuk accepted a pass down low in front of goalie Alex Stalock and was bumped by Tinordi. As a result, Tkachuk ended up knocking Stalock into his own net. Once some shoving ensued the two eventually dropped the gloves.
Tinordi really did not land any punches in the fight, and you could tell he was hanging on to Tkachuk closely. Tkachuk landed a few right hands and eventually Tinordi was taken down by Tkachuk. You have to respect Tinordi for protecting his goalie and standing up to Brady Tkachuk who is a handful to deal with. Check out the replay below for the fight.
That wasn't enough for Brady though, with a little over 5 minutes left in the game the Sen's Captain tried to fight the Blackhawks goalie. Unfortunately for the Senators, this was the most life the team would show all night.
On the play Tkachuk, Austin Watson and Mark Kastelic were all given misconduct penalties sending them early to the showers. The Senators lost the game 5-0, ending their winning streak and hurting their playoff chances.
